Can I purchase better Quality Auto Glass or is it all the same?

This is a very common question in our business of replacing auto glass, Front windshields, Back Glass, Door glass and even Quarter and Vent Glass do have option's.

The fact is that glass does chip and crack no matter what brand but, there is what the industry call's (Aftermarket Part An aftermarket part is any part for a vehicle that is not sourced from the car's maker but is made to function just like the original but, some aftermarket parts can be less expensive because of the use of lower-grade materials.).
(Original Equiptment Manufatured Part or OEM part:OEM part should work exactly as the one you are replacing. It is what the vehicle was manufactured with and provides a peace of mind in its familiarity and performance OEM parts will usually cost 2x the cost of an aftermarket part, but they are made with the highest grade materials available and can be thicker which can help with rock chips and other common causes for replacement).

Here at Contract Glass Service 916-533-5295 we have the option for both, you just have to request it and of course pay more, another option is you can use your insurance company to replace the damage to your auto glass if you have full coverage and the damage outway's your deductible, (deductible:Your portion of the cost.)

Well now you know the answer to the Question that Hundreds of customers have asked, Can I purchase better Quality Auto Glass or is it all the same?

So remember if you need a new piece of Glass call the experts at Contract Glass Service You Have Question's We have answers.

What do I have to do if I want to use my Insurance for broken glass on my vehicle?

What do I have to do if I want to use my Insurance for broken glass on my vehicle?

Hello Friends,

This is Sean With Contract Glass Service again and today I will be answering some questions about what the process of filing a glass claim with your insurance company entails.

Ok all insurance companies are different and this will vary state to state but here in California we follow some basic steps that ensure less problems when using insurance to replace any damaged glass on our vehicle, lets take this step by step.

1). You notice either a Chip or a Crack generally larger than a dollar bill in length.

2). You Call Contract Glass service 916-533-5295 or any company you choose, because you have the right to choose the shop that repairs or replaces your damaged glass in California.

3). You schedule an appointment with the glass company and call your insurance to file a claim, now you can choose to file the glass claim first but this is completely up to you as long as you know that your policy is full coverage and what your deductible is, in the event that you don't know pull out your policy or go online and get your insurance companies claim department telephone # and call to verify your deductible and coverage.

4). A good portion of insurance companies today use third party claim agent's like Safelite Glass Network, or Linx services to do the price comparisons and set up customer claims, you have to understand that these companies have invested interest in saving the insurance company as much money as possible SO that means if you have made a prior arrangement with a glass company don't allow them to scare you by saying if the company you choose to use charges more than what your insurance company is willing to pay YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE.  That is for most glass companies absolutely false.  The only thing you are responsible for is your deductible amount and to file your claim and most companies waive part of your deductible for added incentive to replace your glass anyway.

5). Once you have verified and or filed your claim the glass shop show's and they replace your windshield, you then sign the paperwork and pay your deductible or not depending on the deal you made and that is it.

Well there you have it this should explain the basic process I hope that this explanation will help if you have any questions or comments feel free to leave one or contact me via my web site www.autoglassrepairsyubacity.com

  1. When you are selecting a windshield company to replace your windshield it has a lot to do with the Price and Convenience of the appointment. The problem is that when you look for a windshield replacement your not considering the fact that thing's can and do take an unexpected turn and sometimes leads to not only an inconvenience but also leaks, wind noise, rattling and many other problems, the only way to avoid this problem is to look for an experienced installer who is hopefully certified.
  2. The size of the company is all preference, that should be tailored to each customer's individual need, for example if you want a spare no expense company who will have the cash and size to handle the problem's that you will inevitably have with bigger and busier companies than you look for a company like Safelite who employs an installer for 15 to 18 dollars an hour on average, that can have an affect on installation because I know from personal experience that more jobs a day equals less accuracy and attention for the individual customer, on the other hand a smaller company will have less money to pull from if there is a problem.
  3. I happen to put allot of my faith in the customer service portion of our business, we are not the biggest or the fanciest but I take allot of time with my facebook friends to explain and be curious quick to explain and listen. We have had our share of problems but the outcome turns out good, in the end I believe it is because of our customer service, so before you choose a company to replace your windshield with or without the help of your insurance company call or facebook me @ 9165335295 or https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1404397609829766.1073741834.100007786203416&type=1&l=a756e71d8e
Thank you

Auto Glass Replacement

INSURANCE OR CASH? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE.?

Ok so why does it matter what auto glass company you choose? It MATTERS!
Here is the usual scenario;  When you call the insurance company to ask them what the step's to filing a windshield claim are it doesn't matter if you have made an appointment with a glass shop, you are immediately encouraged to use the Auto glass company that is chosen by Some Far off call center in Iowa somewhere.
The claim's department will direct you to "Glass Claims Network" or SGC network which FYI stands for Safelite Glass (conflict of .....).

Another Claims center called Lynx is the same type of "Middle Man" company designed to scrutinize the glass shop to make sure there not overcharging the insurance company.  Your claim is redirected through these Network co's to save the Insurance company Money:( Not Cool.

Glass shops don't have anything to do with the price of NAGS ( National Auto Glass Specification's) we all choose to adhere to the "Nags" list price as Auto Glass Co's and all of the shop's that I have known over the last 17 years have given cash discounts to their customers, that discount is not going to extend to Insurance Billed replacement's.

Here is why, when you replace your windshield and pay cash, the Glass co. that you  choose will be able to pay for the parts, labor and cost's associated with the job right away.  However with Insurance the glass shop has to wait up to 3 weeks before receiving a check, so the bill for the replacement is fronted until the check arrives, hence the price difference between cash and insurance.

So what does this have to do with you?
Well it is your choice to use whatever shop you choose and the next time you purchase a windshield through Insurance you will be educated on what the insurance company wants vs what the Glass company wants and what will better suite your needs at that given time.

For example:  If your deductible is $250 that would be a higher price then if the replacement had been done paying cash without insurance because, with the cash discount it only cost's $185. or maybe even lower depending on your vehicle.

But if you had a $100 deductible that would be a savings of $85 dollars when you use your insurance which has to be full coverage.
