Can I purchase better Quality Auto Glass or is it all the same?

This is a very common question in our business of replacing auto glass, Front windshields, Back Glass, Door glass and even Quarter and Vent Glass do have option's.

The fact is that glass does chip and crack no matter what brand but, there is what the industry call's (Aftermarket Part An aftermarket part is any part for a vehicle that is not sourced from the car's maker but is made to function just like the original but, some aftermarket parts can be less expensive because of the use of lower-grade materials.).
(Original Equiptment Manufatured Part or OEM part:OEM part should work exactly as the one you are replacing. It is what the vehicle was manufactured with and provides a peace of mind in its familiarity and performance OEM parts will usually cost 2x the cost of an aftermarket part, but they are made with the highest grade materials available and can be thicker which can help with rock chips and other common causes for replacement).

Here at Contract Glass Service 916-533-5295 we have the option for both, you just have to request it and of course pay more, another option is you can use your insurance company to replace the damage to your auto glass if you have full coverage and the damage outway's your deductible, (deductible:Your portion of the cost.)

What do I have to do if I want to use my Insurance for broken glass on my vehicle?

What do I have to do if I want to use my Insurance for broken glass on my vehicle?

Hello Friends,

This is Sean With Contract Glass Service again and today I will be answering some questions about what the process of filing a glass claim with your insurance company entails.

Ok all insurance companies are different and this will vary state to state but here in California we follow some basic steps that ensure less problems when using insurance to replace any damaged glass on our vehicle, lets take this step by step.

1). You notice either a Chip or a Crack generally larger than a dollar bill in length.

2). You Call Contract Glass service 916-533-5295 or any company you choose, because you have the right to choose the shop that repairs or replaces your damaged glass in California.

3). You schedule an appointment with the glass company and call your insurance to file a claim, now you can choose to file the glass claim first but this is completely up to you as long as you know that your policy is full coverage and what your deductible is, in the event that you don't know pull out your policy or go online and get your insurance companies claim department telephone # and call to verify your deductible and coverage.

4). A good portion of insurance companies today use third party claim agent's like Safelite Glass Network, or Linx services to do the price comparisons and set up customer claims, you have to understand that these companies have invested interest in saving the insurance company as much money as possible SO that means if you have made a prior arrangement with a glass company don't allow them to scare you by saying if the company you choose to use charges more than what your insurance company is willing to pay YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE.  That is for most glass companies absolutely false.  The only thing you are responsible for is your deductible amount and to file your claim and most companies waive part of your deductible for added incentive to replace your glass anyway.

5). Once you have verified and or filed your claim the glass shop show's and they replace your windshield, you then sign the paperwork and pay your deductible or not depending on the deal you made and that is it.

Well there you have it this should explain the basic process I hope that this explanation will help if you have any questions or comments feel free to leave one or contact me via my web site www.autoglassrepairsyubacity.com
